Geriatric Massage can help:

Geriatric Massage

This method of massage therapy will benefit seniors who suffer from age related health issues. Patience and care is taken to ensure that you feel safe and secure. This will enhance the healing process.

Your massage session can be given in almost any setting. At your home, a hospital, or nursing home you may receive the massage in bed or seated upright in a chair or wheelchair. You may remove the amount of clothing you feel comfortable with since you will be fully draped, and massage cream is used for easier absorption. Therapeutic grade essential oils are also used lightly to aid in the healing process. You also have the choice of remaining fully clothed.

A session can last from 20 to 45 minutes. The length of time will depend on your physical condition, your mental and emotional state, and your tolerance for touch. Sessions will be tailored to meet your needs. This could be as simple as massaging just the hands, feet or legs to completing a full body massage. If you're looking to achieve a major change in your well being then a 4 to 6 week treatment program, twice per week, would be considered the norm.

It is important to check with your doctor first before scheduling massage therapy. It may also help me to have the Doctor's contact information in case there are any questions or simply to fine tune the massage therapy course of treatment.
